Description
Stapes is the smallest bone of the body and the last of the 3 small bones behind the ear drum. It is often affected by a disease called as otosclerosis which causes fixation of the bone and hearing loss. In Stapedectomy we remove whole or part of the fixed bone and replace it with an implant called as the Piston and thus restoring the patients hearing.
