Description

Tonsils (Palatine tonsils) are normal body tissue which are a part of bodies immune system that protect the body from certain infections. Very commonly these tonsils can themselves become the seat of infection, presenting with symptoms of throat pain, pain during swallowing, cough and fever. Repeated infections can be debilitating for the patient and also contribute to indiscriminate use of anti-biotics. Also, increase in size of these tonsils can lead to problems such as Snoring or sleep apnoea. Tonsillectomy is the surgical removal of the tonsils by Blunt dissection and snare method or by Co-ablation.
